Strange Things

Today, during lunch, I had to run a few errands. Actually, I just needed to go to the bank, but that turned into bank, hardware store, pharmacy, and a stop at jack-in-the-box (I’m getting really tired of microwave panini’s for lunch).

At any rate, I have always had an unusual aversion to the practice of making strange aftermarket changes to low end cars. It just seems odd to me. I saw this car pull up to the parking lot while I was in the drive-thru:

Someone put Lambo-style doors on a late model Toyota Celica. Weirdo.

Also, I have discovered a few things about having a yard:

  • In Houston, during the summer, if you don’t water your grass, it will die.
  • People expect you to water your grass.
  • If you are not careful, a hose and sprinkler setup from Ace Hardware can cost as much as a very nice dinner for 4.

Apparently people go to Ace hardware during the lunch hour to complain. The people working there are very helpful, but that doesn’t appear to matter to the shoppers at this hour. They are going to be offended no matter how hard you try. So, when you try and fail, the rule to learn is: never try (Courtesy of Homer Simpson, who can now be the voice on your GPS system)
